Responsible for all federal supervision and regulation of
state non-member banks in a seven-state region (Alabama,
Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolina, Virginia and
West Virginia), and in the New England region
(Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode
Island and Vermont). Responsible for coordination of
activities with all other bank regulatory agencies (state
and federal) in the region. Responsible for all aspects
and handling of troubled and failing banks prior to
closing. Responsible for administering annual budget of
$15 million. Supervised office staff of 40 and field staff
of 200 in 17 field offices.
Examined banks in the Richmond region (North and South
Carolina, Virginia and Maryland). Served as review
examiner. Duties included applications for FDlC insurance,
mergers and branches.
